WWE’s Ronda Rousey claps back about rumors, could a heel turn be included?
It is that time of year where a lot of things happen especially in the Royal Rumble match. That’s normally the time where we see heel and face turns, tag team break ups and builds for potential matches on the road to WrestleMania. Right now WWE has a negative that they can turn in to a positive. It’s not doubt that Ronda Rousey is a big money draw and has had an effect on Women’s wrestling (not all in a good way) but after recent events and rumors swirling it may be time for a change for Ronda Rousey.
Recently it was reported on Dave Meltzer’s podcast that Ronda maybe stepping away from the WWE after WrestleMania to focus on making a family with her husband Travis Browne. Ronda later fired back about the rumors with these comments:
“I honestly don’t know why [anyone] feels [they’re] an authority to speak on plans for my uterus. It’s my vagina, my life, keep the speculations to yourself. Leave me and my reproductive organs alone.”
Strong statement and the wrestling world has been going crazy, applauding and criticizing Ronda’s situation. It’s been said she is super happy in the WWE and her break may not be the end because she is locked in her contract until 2021. Right now all signs are pointing to a match at WrestleMania 35 against Becky Lynch which is expected to be the first time the Women will main event WrestleMania.
Now we all know WWE likes a face vs heel atmosphere and Becky is too over with the fans to be a heel at this point (she is an anti-hero). Fans have started booing Ronda dating back to her match with Charlotte at Survivor Series. A heel turn will be very beneficial for the self-proclaimed baddest B*tch on the Planet.
With this rumor swirling as weeks go by fans will eventually start to turn on Ronda more and more as they have been split since her debut and this only adds fuel to the fire for some fans. Capitalize on it, make her heel and unleash her. If a break is indeed in her future then we can all anticipate her dropping the belt to Becky because I know WWE wants to avoid creating another Brock Lesnar.
If WWE does kick off a heel turn for her since she does have some heat then Sunday would be a great time to do it in her match against Sasha Banks.
