NBA Playoffs: Warriors steal Game 1 on the Road 119-106

NBA Playoffs: Recap and highlights from game 1 of the Western Conference finals

Game 1 of the WCF lived up to all the expectations from beginning to end. The Golden State Warriors silenced all doubters that they could win on the road and they showed they are up to the challenge of beating a Rockets team designed to beat them.  The first half was exciting and full of highlights including Draymond’s early technical foul. At half the score was 56-56 but once the 2nd half began the Warriors came out the gate and even shot 60% in the 3rd quarter. The Rockets did a good job trying to fight back and not let the game get out of hand but the Warriors showed them why experience trumps home court advantage.

Kevin Durant went off for 37 points on 14 of 27 from the field, while Klay also put up 28 points and knocked down 6 3 pointers. Curry didn’t have his strongest game shooting 1 of 5 behind the arc but he still contributed with 18 points and 8 assist. Harden dropped 41 in game 1 and had help with Chris Paul dropping 25. Golden State was getting help from everyone including the bench and even forced the 16 turnovers on the Rockets.

Game 2 will be on Tuesday at 9pm on TNT. The Rockets will try to avoid being down 2-0 before heading back to Golden State
