Wrestlemania 34 results and review

WrestleMania 34 just ended and wow I’m actually glad it’s over. Tonight was a night a high expectations as WWE advertised this PPV as the most stacked card of all time. The PPV was packed with a lot of matches (13 to be exact) and gave us 7 hours of a rollercoaster ride (and I’m not talking about the good rollercoasters). Here are the results from the PPV

Woken Matt Hardy wins the Andre the Giant memorial Battle Royal

Cedric Alexander beats Mustafa Ali to capture the Cruiserweight Championship

Naomi wins the Women’s battle royal

Seth Rollins becomes a grand slam champion by capturing the IC title

Charlotte ends Asuka Streak

Jinder Mahal wins the US title

Ronda Rousey shines in her debut against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon

Bludgeon Brothers capture the Smackdown Tag Team Championships

Nia Jax Captures the Raw Women’s Championship

Brock Lesnar def. Roman Reigns

The PPV started off very strong. The Miz was absolutely right when he said that the Triple Threat match for the IC title was going to steal the show and it did. Literally it did steal the show because it went missing after that match. Charlotte ended Asuka streak and that’s fine by me, I rather it be someone already working hard on the roster then for a year to pass just for Ronda Rousey to get a the win. Ronda Rousey shined in her debut and won her first match in almost 3 years I believe but hey she looked really good out there.

John Cena begged for a match for weeks just to get buried in 5 mins by the man himself the Undertaker. Undertaker looked really good out there and that could be a bad thing, Vince might ask him to come back for another WrestleMania instead of letting him stay retired. Daniel Bryan is back and still looks great but I know we haven’t seen the best of him yet and I highly doubt this storyline is over even though it really needs to be. The dream match WWE hyped up did not live up to expectations. Definitely wasn’t as good as their bout at Wrestle Kingdom 10. Shinsuke heel turn really shocked me and I really want to see how WWE handles that with a very poor creative team. Braun Strowman won the tag team titles with a 10 year old and I really hope that was a make a wish moment because if it wasn’t then I’m going to be even more pissed. It was a very nice gesture though and entertaining. No one was paying attention to the main event. Fans were not engaged at all but luckily the beach ball made its return to WrestleMania and is undefeated and should be the new face of the WWE since Roman Reigns failed to become it (I was really shocked he lost).

Overall this card failed to live up to the hype in my eyes but if you enjoyed it then bravo. There was some good moments I’m not going to lie but as a whole it wasn’t a good WrestleMania. Both royal rumble winners lost and a lot of matches that could have been 5 star matches were too short. Congratulations NXT you have completed a clean sweep in the WWE calendar year. 4-0 on all major PPV weekends.

This wasn’t a 5 star PPV and not even a 4 star PPV, this was a bit average at best, Its time that we really learn that WWE doesn’t seem like the place to be anymore. Bigger market doesn’t always mean better. But luckily I still got some takeaways from tonight PPV and you can read them here.
