Ok i’ll admit i might be wrong when i said he was going to leave because after today i think its possible for him to stay. Today was the trade deadline and I must say it did not disappoint but the Cavs stole the show. There is a lot of drama going on behind the scenes and the team just looked like they would not get it together and contend in the playoffs. They suffered consecutive losing streaks, player drama and apparently LeBron and the front office hashed out their differences. Everything seemed to point to LeBron walking away at the end of the season but I don’t think so anymore. First the Lakers made It known they will be re-calibrating and prepping for the 2019 free agency that has some key young talent that will be on the market and now the Cavs made some serious moves and they were not all bad.

I must say I’m use to LeBron running the show even when it comes to trade but he has to put a little more faith in Koby Altman. He made a lot of great moves and the best part was they didn’t even give up the Nets pick. The Cavs were suffering, they had a very old team that didn’t play defense and they did a complete purge. They shipped out Isiah Thomas, Channing Frye, D-Wade, D-Rose, Iman Shumpert and Jae Crowder. They didn’t secure a rim protector but they are younger and versatile. They went out and got some players who can play on both sides of the ball and bring some energy off the bench. Check out these players

  • Jordan Clarkson
  • Larry Nance jr
  • Rodney Hood
  • George Hill

Every single one of these players can play both sides of the ball very well and I’m excited to see what this team will do going forward. The only question that would remain is how good could they really be? Check out the Cavs roster now:

  • LeBron James
  • R. Smith
  • Kevin Love
  • Jeff Green
  • Tristan Thompson
  • Kyle Korver
  • Jose Calderon
  • Cedi Osman
  • Ante Zizic
  • London Perrantes
  • John Holland
  • Jordan Clarkson(acquired)
  • Larry Nance Jr. (acquired)
  • Rodney Hood(acquired)
  • George Hill(acquired)

Some reporters say that maybe the Lakers will try to go after LeBron after all but I think the Cavs are stating their case to try and get him to stay. I’m not sure what more he can ask for besides a rim protector. They got rid of some veterans that just wasn’t a good fit and gave him some youth that plays both sides well. The way I see it, maybe he will stay in Cleveland after all and commit long term. If he doesn’t then the only options I see are the Spurs and the Rockets.
